Men Need to be Real Men

Last week, you may have read that I was on jury duty for an extreme case that involved premeditated first-degree murder. I learned a lot during those few days in court, even though it was challenging and very eye-opening.

One of the things that stood out to me most is the importance of every man stepping up and being a genuinely Godly man in all areas of his life. Here is the background without going into too much gory detail. A year ago, a man took the life of his girlfriend. She had three children due to a previous relationship, and together, they had a three-month-old. The boyfriend already had three other kids and a wife, to whom he was currently still married.

One fateful day, he and his girlfriend got into a fight. Ultimately, he strangled her then did something worse to take her life finally. As we viewed the confession video, the detective asked the man how he knew she was still alive after the strangling, and he said he had seen strangling before; his stepfather did it to him when he was a boy.

"This world needs real men of God."

After I heard this story, I realized that this killer learned the violence and choking he perpetuated onto his girlfriend from his stepfather when he was only a child. Years later, it resulted in an innocent woman and mom's death. Then I thought about what the three-month-old and other children would do once they learned how their father lived and is

now in jail.

As I have mentioned many times, God is the hope of the world, and He works by moving through His children – especially his sons. Men need to stand up and be real men, live the right way, set good examples, and stand up for what is right by leading their family and leading society.

There is no time to waste because today is critical. Children are watching what their dads are doing. Wives are suffering the repercussions from the sins of their husbands. Businesses, neighborhoods, and even our country struggle because the men, who are supposed to be God-directed leaders, are not doing what's right in the sight of God.

Will you be that man who stands up for righteousness today? If you are not a man, who is a man in your life that you can encourage?

God came into this world to show how a Godly man is supposed to live, so I encourage all men today to pick up their cross and follow His example. This world needs you.

Here are some critical questions for the week to answer and keep in front of you:

1) If you are a man, who is someone Godly in your daily life that?

2) If you are a woman, how can you encourage and pray for men around you to live Godly lives?

3) What example are you setting for your kids, neighbors, co-workers, and all those around you?

Prayer:

"Dear Jesus, You are the example of the man that men are supposed to be like: committed, loving, leading, and most importantly, being holy and righteous in daily life. Please help me to follow your ways.

Could you help me to stand up for your truth? I want to be the person that young children could follow to learn how to walk with you. Lead me, Lord. Amen"
