Made to Change the World One Page – Life Tool Commitment – How to Change Your Life
Commitment is a major key to life but true commitment takes a lot of work and is hard to come by. Here is a tool to help you understand and apply commitment in your life for true fulfillment in life:
Commitment (Adjective) Webster's Dictionary: having made a pledge or commitment to someone ... or something ....
God’s commitment to us (Romans 5:8, NIV.) “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Our commitment to God (Psalm 37:5, TLB) “Commit everything you do to God – trust Him to help you do it and He will.”
Making commitment simple:
1) The first commitment was made to you by God through Jesus’ life and death
2) Your most important commitment is to Jesus, which means:
● Surrender your life to Him – in all areas
● Trust in His plan for your life – not in what you see
● Believe His truth, not your own experiences or lies of the world
3) Covenant commitments (as outlined by God):
● To love (God with your heart, soul, mind and strength, and your neighbor as yourself)
● Respect your father and mother (from the 10 commandments)
● Commitment to love and honor your spouse (if you are married)
● Commitment to your children (if you have any)
4) Commit what you do to God, which includes your career/calling
As you go through life there are many other opportunities to commit, or not commit, to something. How do you know what you should commit to and what to say “no” to? Here is a simple method to help you as you go forward.
