Going Above and Beyond as a Christian

Above and Beyond

We hear the term that someone has gone “above and beyond” at certain occasions in life--- mainly at awards ceremonies, retirements, or times of recognition but what does it really mean to go above and beyond?

When someone does more than what would be expected to be done by anyone in the same situation, that is above and beyond.

“Jesus is above and beyond.”

While Jesus lived on this earth, He did not go above and beyond. He WAS above and beyond. To live a perfect life and then be tortured to death to save sinners is literally redefining above and beyond; it is the term's essence.

If you have accepted Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior, He lives in you. Through the Holy Spirit, his power is in you to do even greater works than He did (John 14:12). As Christians, our daily lives should be “above and beyond” the common standards and love in this world. How are you living an “above and beyond” life as you follow Jesus each day? It is easy to be average, but it requires faith to live beyond it.

Here are some important questions for the week to answer and keep in front of you:

1) How do you define “above and beyond” as a Christian?

2) Does your definition agree with God’s?

3) How can you live an “above and beyond” life every day?

Happy Easter. He has RISEN!
